AT THE ESSEX ASSOCIATION OF LOCAL COUNCILS ANNUAL CONFERENCE HELD ON 24TH SEPTEMBER, WEST HANNINGFIELD CAME RUNNERS UP IN THE ‘COUNCIL OF THE YEAR’ CATEGORY, SECOND ONLY TO WITHAM TOWN COUNCIL.
THIS IS A HIGHLY COMMENDABLE ACHIEVEMENT AND SHOWS THAT YOUR PARISH COUNCIL IS NOW OPERATING AT HIGH LEVEL, ENGAGING WITH RESIDENTS AND FORMING RELATIONSHIPS WITH ESSEX COUNTY COUNCIL/CHELMSFORD CITY COUNCIL.

West Hanningfield is a small village located approximately 8km (5.0 miles) south-southeast of Chelmsford.  It is located to the north of Hanningfield Reservoir.  Surrounding villages include South Hanningfield, Stock, Rettendon and East Hanningfield.  It is also close to the Chelmsford villages of Galleywood and Great Baddow.  The local public house is known as the Three Compasses.  The village also contains a primary school and village hall and a hairdresser.

The Essex County Council (A130 southbound carriageway and A130 Southbound off slip to A132, Rettendon/Runwell/East Hanningfield/West Hanningfield/Sandon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2016

The Essex County Council (A130 northbound carriageway and A130 northbound on slip from A132, Rettendon/Runwell/East Hanningfield/West Hanningfield/Sandon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2016

 Further to the notices published on 28 April 2016, 5 May 2016 and 26 May 2016 Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has extended the above Orders under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of A130 southbound & northbound carriageway and associated on/off slips to/from A132, Rettendon/Runwell/East Hanningfield/West Hanningfield/Sandon in the City of Chelmsford as specified:

The closures are scheduled to commence between the period of 2 October 2017 and 7 November 2017 between the hours of 20:00h and 06:00h or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. These were will be extended from 8 November 2017 to 31 May 2017 by order under S14(1) Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

 

The restrictions are required for the safety of the public and workforce while resurfacing and associated embankment works are undertaken by County Route.

 

Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.

 

The Orders came into effect on 8 May 2016 and 22 May 2016 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
